Section Vice Chief: Joseph Fischer

Joseph Fischer joined Scouting as a Tiger Cub in 2018 as part of Pack 375 and later moved to Pack 323. He is currently part of Troop 85 and Crew 905. Within his Troop he held various positions from Assistant Patrol Leader all the way to Senior Patrol Leader. He recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 2026. He was elected into the OA in 2024 and received Brotherhood in 2025. In 2025 he was elected for Lodge Treasurer of Atchafalaya Lodge. He currently serves as Lodge Treasurer and Section Vice Chief.

Section Secretary: Meredith Beran

Brotherhood

Meredith Beran started her scouting journey in fourth grade as a Webelo in Troop 626. She joined not just to move up in ranks, but to grow as a person. Meredith took on different leadership roles, like patrol leader, chapter chief, and staffing at summer/winter camps. These roles taught her important lessons about responsibility, teamwork, helping others, and building friendships. She has enjoyed earning merit badges and earned her Eagle rank in 2025. Looking back at her journey, it’s clear that her experiences and friendships have helped her grow and her want to inspire others. As she continues, she embodies what scouting is all about: growth, leadership, and a love for learning.

Section Adviser: Elaine Baker

Vigil Honor

Elaine Baker being her Scouting journey as a 20-year-old Venturer. Since then she caught the Scouting bug and has held several leadership roles, served on the district level earning the DAM Award and council VLA Award. She currently serves as Committee Chair of Troop 8 out of Gonzales, Associate Lodge Adviser to the Service and Ceremonies Vice Chiefs, and Section Adviser.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Associate Section Adviser: Ryan Johnston

Ryan Johnston joined Scouting as a Tiger Cub, later earning the rank of Eagle Scout in 2010. After joining the Order of the Arrow in 2005 he went on to serve many leadership roles within Quelqueshoe Lodge from various chairman positions to Lodge Chief, and as Section Secretary from 2009-2012. He currently serves as Associate Lodge Adviser and Associate Section Adviser.

 

 

 

Associate Section Adviser: Anthony J. Quillman

Vigil Honor

Anthony has been with Scouting America and Cub Scouts consistently for almost 13 years with 6 of those being in the OA. He was able to complete and achieve the rank of Eagle in 2023 at Jamboree. He is super involved and always gives time and help when he’s able. He became an ordeal member in 2019 and have gained the vigil honor in 2023 with his name meaning loyal helper. The last additional information of other places he has attended have attended would be 2022 NOAC and 2023 Jambo as a participant, and then he staffed the 2024 NOAC with plans to staff the 2027 Jambo. He currently attends Louisiana Tech University where he is majoring in Professional Aviation ,and is a capt. on the powerlifting team.

 

Associate Section Adviser: Jasim Ali

Syed Jasim Reza Ali is a current Section Associate Adviser, a former two-term Section Chief for G1, and served as the 2024 NOAC Conference Vice Chief of Engagement. With 10 years of involvement in Scouting, he is an Eagle Scout and proud alumnus of Troop 133 out of New Iberia, Louisiana.

 

 

 

 

 

Associate Section Adviser: Hayden Nugent

Hayden Nugent began Scouting in 2012 as a Tiger Scout and is a member of Troop 45 in Metairie, Louisiana. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 2022 with three palms and was elected into the Order of the Arrow in 2021, achieving Brotherhood the same year. He became a Vigil Honor member in 2024, receiving the name Yimita na Yukpa Ikana meaning “Eager Cheerful Friend.” He has served in Chilantakoba Lodge as Lodge Treasurer in 2024 and was elected Lodge Chief for 2025. He is a recipient of the Founder’s Award for 2025 and has staffed Camp V-Bar, continuing his involvement in lodge and section operations.
Hayden is known for stepping in wherever help is needed and giving his time in service to others. He plans to earn a degree in history in 2028 at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and pursue graduate school. His future goals include adult leadership roles at the lodge and section levels, continued Camp V-Bar staffing, and serving as a future Scoutmaster of Troop 45.
